Welcome to Tara Mock Piano Studio!  I am located in the 40/42 area of Garner, NC. 

I enjoy teaching students from 5 years old and up including adults, beginner through advanced levels! I personalize my teaching style and methods to the individual learning style, personalities, and capabilities of my students.  My expectations of my students are high, but I also enjoy having fun and being flexible in regards to what my students would like to study. I have a very positive and encouraging personality and teaching style and work well with all types of children and adults.  Lessons include not only learning to play the piano with excellent technique, but also theory training, ear training, music history, listening, improvisation, chord charts, lead sheets, and ensemble activities.

I have been teaching private piano lessons since 1996. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Piano (Campbellsville University, KY) and Master of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy (University of South Carolina). I am a member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association), NCMTA (NC Music Teachers Association), and RPTA (Raleigh Piano Teachers Association). 

 We have lived in North Carolina for several years and we are thrilled to call this area home! Our family loves being active in our church, martial arts, and the homeschooling community. My kids and I regularly play in our church's praise team and/or student praise team on drums, piano, vocals, and keyboard. Our family also includes two adorable and hilarious dogs and a fabulous and funny Thoroughbred horse.
